About Side Quest Pickups
Side Quest Pickups started as a natural extension of the rebuild work — if you're replacing pickups anyway, why not wind your own? Chris started winding for his own builds and the results were good enough to start offering them separately.
Every pickup is wound by hand, one at a time, on a winding jig in the shop. No batch production, no outsourced winding. Each set is listened to before it ships.
Available Styles
- Strat-style singles — Alnico 5, wound to vintage specs; RWRP middle available
- Tele-style singles — Bridge and neck configurations; bright and punchy or warm and full
- P-90 / SQ-90 — P-90 in spirit, sized to drop into a humbucker route
Pickup Repair & Rewinding
Got a pickup that's gone dead, gone microphonic, or lost its output? The shop does pickup repair and rewinding — open-coil, single coil, and humbucker. Get in touch with a description of the problem and we'll figure out if it's repairable.
